VCC Library wants to create a series of installations to promote and create awareness on ASL (American Sign Language) in the library space for the deaf community. VCC values inclusivity among cultures and communities. My poster idea was chosen in the class competition and they will be installed in the library in 2021.
The project objects and expectations include:
- Create an impactful installation that incorporates, promotes ASL.
- Create a welcoming environment for deaf students and faculty.
- Let the hearing people get aware of and interested in ASL.
I chose a simple ASL greeting and represented it with a combination of line drawings and photographs of 3 young people. I aimed to grab the attention of both the deaf and hearing
people with a lively mood on the posters.
