Project Overview
Matchful Housing is a landlord-tenant matching service. The company used to find and introduce tenants and landlords to each other by asking their preferences on the phone/email manually, which was time consuming and inefficient. The project goal was to build a new platform for both tenants and landlords to be able to find a good matching online.
My Contributions
When I joined the team, there was no designer and the website/application development had already started. I started with analyzing the website and app in progress from the viewpoint of UX and UI design and improved them considering the business goals. I was involved in interviewing the stakeholders, creating flows and prototypes, all the way to creating final UI designs as well as designing the logo.

New Website
In phase one, we developed a new website to inform our services and let potential tenants search properties.
When analyzing the competitors, I noticed many real estates websites have too many sections/menus to give users clear navigation. One factor to cause the complexity is that they have a two-sided platform: for both property owners and tenants. I kept the home page design and site map simple and clear to provide information to both two audiences separately.

Customer Database
To find a good tenant based on a landlord's preferences was one of our main services. The company staff used to manage the tenant data in excel or paper-based and it was required to build a database for everyone to access the customer information. I designed the interface so that they can search and update it easily. Also, the sign-up and profile settings page will gather information regarding tenants' preferences, which is connected to the customer database.

Tour management
We built up a tour management function that the staff and property owners can manage the tour request from potential tenants. The Tour Detail page is designed to show all the necessary information for the staff to arrange a tour and visualize the ongoing tour status. The function enabled it to connect a tenant and landlord more effectively.

Logo Design
I developed some digital sketches from the M shape and came up with the idea of integrating the infinity symbol and bow tie shape. It represents the company vision that we create infinitely matching in various categories: tenants and landlords, buyers and sellers or people looking for new relationships.
The client wanted to make the logo look soft, friendly and somewhat casual. I carefully chose a font and colour to meet the requirement.
