VCCFA (Vancouver Community College Faculty Association) was looking to renew their website built 10 years ago. In our studio class, we were in charge of the planning, design and development. As a project manager, I was responsible for managing the project and meeting deadlines, also worked in the design and development process.
The new website with a clean and simple design has better usability and readability, which let the association communicate with their target audience more easily and effectively.

The New Website pages

The old website pages
The old website had mainly 3 problems with it.
- Unclear Navigation; hard to find information because of the non-organized structure
- Unclear Navigation; hard to find information because of the non-organized structure
- A lot of information is too old or not updated, which leads the low usability and credibility of the site. Some pages have no description; hard to understand the messages.
- Visually not attractive; the readability and legibility are low and image quality is not good enough. Many pages don't have any image or graphics.

Old Sitemap

New Sitemap
To increase the usability, through several interviews we clarified their priority regarding the information and organized the sitemap to make the site neat and easy to navigate.

Wireframe: Home Page
The Home page on the old site had too much information there. We narrowed down the content, which are important to the users.

Wireframe: FAQ Page
We used an accordion plugin for some pages to organize the content.
